Allan Baird

Allan’s passion for radio started at a young age, when as a teenager he was a regularly seen around Sydney radio stations 2GB, 2UW, 2SM and 2CH.
For a while ran a “radio station” at his high school with mate Graham Mott, who after a successful career behind the microphone, ended up at managing 3AW and Southern Cross Broadcasting.

However, Allan followed a career in (IT) information technology which included overseas postings to Boston, Beijing and Singapore, resulting in his contribution to the profession being recognised by him being elected a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society.

The pursuit of his passion for radio wasn’t satisfied until much later, when he became involved in community radio for almost 13 years as a drive and evening presenter.

Now on RadioKSA, he presents Memories of Gold, reliving some of the best music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
